Party Poker
Party Poker often has 70,000 plus players playing at a time, and is known as the largest on-line poker room in the world. Because they have all of these players in the room Sit and Go tournaments have been known to fill up in lass than a minute. Party Poker players often don't have to wait for a game to start, rather they have to find a tournament with an unoccupied seat from which to play.
Party Poker has the following poker games available in limit, pot limit and no-limit formats: Texas Hold'em, Omaha Hi, Omaha 8 or Better, Seven Card Stud, and Seven Card Stud 8 or Better. Multi-table and single table tournaments are offered as are ring games. Although Party Poker has ring games it is through their tournament offerings that they have made a name for themselves. As well as having been responsible for several guaranteed on-line Million Dollar tournaments, they run their own feature World Poker Tour event. This featured tournament allows Party Poker players a chance to access a huge payoff for a small outlay of cash. In The Party Poker Million tournament players start playing in on-line satellite tournaments for a low entry fee of $32, and the tournament ends with a face-to-face tournament played as you sail to Mexico aboard a luxury cruise ship. The prize pool is estimated to be worth at least $7,000,000. The first place winner will take home a cool $1,300,000, while the 2nd to 9th place finishers will share more than $3,000,000 and the 10th to 180th finishers share $2,430,000.
For players who don't want to wait for one of the large tournament to start Party Poker offers plenty of modest tournaments. If you want to play immediately you can play at a Sit and Go tournament in either a single or multi-table format. Party Poker also offers STEP tournaments. A STEP tournament is a five level tournament event (offered in both ten and twenty player formats) in which a player starts out playing a level one tournament (where the total entry fee is $12) and can advance to a level five tournament. Basically, the players who win the lower level tournaments advance to higher and higher level tournaments until they reach the fifth and final STEP level. The top four at the fifth tournament table split a pot of $10,000 (for the 10 player series) or $20,000 (for the 20 player series).
